If we only pause, a resplendent world is revealed. Nature's Elegance is a photorealistic oil painting of a ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) approaching a blue gladiolis amidst falling raindrops. The scene reveals macroscopic details of feathers, wings, petals and water droplets. The focus is short, mimicking a photograph and providing depth to both bird and flower. The final touch is the artist's initials adorned with raindrops, adding a touch of imagination to the photo-realistic style. The painting conveys the transcendent natural beauty of this amazing creature. Hummingbirds are the smallest birds in existence, and move their wings so quickly the human eye cannot perceive it. When we stop and magnify the beautiful creature, we have no choice but to gaze in awe at the graceful union of function and form. This truly is an image of Nature's Elegance.
